Open to 2017-18 CHAVC Athletes – REGISTER HERE

Sessions will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays 11/15 – 12/18.

Dates: 11/15, 11/22, 11/25, 11/27, 12/6, 12/9, 12/13, 12/16, 12/18


CHAVC is once again partnering with UNC women’s volleyball trainer Erik Hernandez to provide a sport-specific training opportunity for CHAVC members only. This series of up to fifteen one-hour workouts will be conducted at UNC’s Loudermilk Center and is available as an add-on for motivated athletes.
Sessions will begin mid-November and are designed to teach athletes the fundamentals and proper techniques of Volleyball training. Athletes will be trained to enhance their strength, power, flexibility, body awareness, speed, agility and jumping abilities. Sessions are structured as follows:


• Warm-Up – Flexibility – Agility

• Core Training

• Jump Training

• Strength Training

• Cool Down


About UNC’s Loudermilk Center:

All of the training sessions will be run at the state-of-the-art Varsity Olympic Sports weight room at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Erik Hernandez is the Assistant Director for Strength and Conditioning and has been responsible for the Volleyball team’s strength and conditioning program at the University of North Carolina for six years. He has helped athletes of all ages increase their jump and agility performance for more than eight years with his training methodologies.

Loudermilk Center for Excellence Olympic Sports Weight Room is located in the East end zone of the Football Stadium.  Take I-40 West to Chapel Hill. Exit at NC-54 West (exit #273 A) and follow for approximately 4 miles. After the US-15/501 overpass, continue straight on NC-54 until the next stoplight. Turn left at stoplight onto Country Club Road. Make immediate right onto Ridge Road. Follow Ridge Road approx. 1/2 mile, past the Baseball stadium on the left, past the field hockey stadium on the right, and past Stadium Drive, also on your right.  Immediately after Stadium drive turn right into the tunnel, which will put you into the parking lot right in front of the Loudermilk Center for excellence.  The weight room is located on the first floor of the building through the double doors.  Parking is free on nights and weekends across campus unless otherwise posted.  If parking is not available, there is a parking garage immediately next to Loudermilk called Ram’s Deck.  If you park on the second level on the exact opposite side where you have entered you will see a door way and that will lead you right out to the Loudermilk parking lot.
